Peace shloka

Peace Slokas

Om! Asato ma Sad gamaya Tamaso ma jyothir gamaya Mrytyorma amrutham gamaya

Oh Lord, From the unreal, lead me to the Real; From darkness lead me to Light; From death, lead me to immortality.

Om sahanaa vavatu sahanau bhunaktu sahaveeryam karavaavahai tejaswinaa vadheetamastu maa vid vishaa vahai om shaanthih, shaanthih, shaanthihi

May he protect all, may he nurture all, may we all perform together the most heroic and divine actions; may our learning be prosperous to all; may we never quarrel on the different beliefs we may have; may we illuminate together, may we live in harmony. May there be peace for all and for ever.

Aum Purnamadaha Purnamidam Purnat Purna Mudachyate. Purnasya purnam adaya purna mevavshishyate.

The Lord is perfect, Perfect also is the Universe. If any portion is subtracted from the Perfect, that which is taken and that which remains is yet Perfect.

Mahadevaaya Te Namaha

I pray to Lord Shiva who has conquered death, who is the destroyer of the universe, the one with blue neck and who gives happiness to all.

Raamaya Raama Bhadraaya, Raamachandraaya Vedhase. Raghunaathaya Nathaya, Sitayaha Pataye Namaha.

Salutaions to Lord Sri Rama, Ramabhadra, RamaChandra, Brahma-swarupa, Raagunatha, Sitapathi.

Sri Rama Rama Rameti Rame Rama manorame Sahasranama tat tulyam Rama nama varanane

The meaning of this shloka is that chanting the name of Sri Rama even once is equivalent to saying the Vishnu Sahasranama a thousand times (As stated by Lord Siva to Parvati). Therefore, the advice is to chant at least this one line if one cannot find time to chant the whole of the Vishnu Sahasranama.

Sree Raaghavam Dasharathaatmajamaprameyam
Seethaapatim Raghukulaanvaya Ratnadeepam
Aajaanubahum Aravinda-dalaayataaksham
Raamam Nishaachara-vinaashakaram Namaami

I salute to Lord Raaghava (Sri Rama), Dasharatha's son, Sithadevi's husband, and the shining light of RaghuVamsa. Oh Lord, the broad shouldered, and lotus eyed Rama, Please alleviate my fears, and drive away all the evils.
