Hanuman Mantra: the significance

According to legends, Lord Hanuman is an incarnation of lord Shiva and he is a great disciple of Lord Ram. He represents divinity, strength, courage and devotion. People worship this monkey god to attain knowledge, wisdom and courage. It is believed that one can even walk through dense forest without fear if keeps repeating Hanuman Mantra or ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ since it offers strength, wisdom and courage.
The way by which the hanuman mantra is chanted is as follows:

"Maarutatulyavegam Jitendriyam
Buddhimataam Varistham,
Vaataatmajam Vaanarayoothmukhyam
Sriramdootam Saranam Prapadhye"
This means that hanuman is the messenger of Shri Rama. He’s got a rapid pace like the wind and is very quick just like a human mind. He is highly intelligent and is the son of Pawan Deva (The Wind God). All the living creatures in this world surrender to Pawan Putra Hanuman.
